difference of opinion. some people like this game still and some people dont. those who dont will voice why they dont while those that like the game will be content and play it. theres a reason why forums usu hold more complaints.

100% agreed, in principle, 100% failed, in execution.
The concept of Guild Wars being purely for the more "casual" player went out the door with titles and HoM.If GW was truly focused on the part-time player such mechanics would really have no place in the game.
As such it's pretty easy to see why such mechanics were implemented and to whom they were geared towards.
I do agree that these recurring GW "problems" are usually voiced by those that play Guild Wars 24/7 with the "casual" majority not even being aware that these forums exist yet such concerns are still relatively valid as who better to comment on potential issues in any game than those who know it inside out.I personally place far more merit in their opinion than I do in the plethora of squires that join and QQ after every skill update.
Any MMO is going to have it's "hardcore" veterans, regardless of developer intentions or mechanical design being geared towards the more "casual" player and it's relatively inevitable they will often be the more passionate and vocal posters.
In context and given the medium of gaming forums people stating it's only a small minority that post here and debate such things is really a cop out, not to mention it's re-stating the blatantly obvious.
I don't see that having any actual merit towards discounting the relevance of such topics and debate here.
As I have posted before I'm still of the opinion that 99% of the current issues are based on false expectations of the non-subscription model and the frustration in playing a dying game.
Many just can't bear to walk away and I totally agree with you that many of the complaints here are birthed out of this frustration.
Shelf-life.

Actually, I'd say GW is doing a pretty good job of catering to BOTH the casual and hardcore player.
Anecdotal evidence ahoy: of late, our guild has seen some players come back to the game after 1 or 2 years of real life/playing other games, and some new players to the game. Those that had played WoW said the the grind drove them away, and in all instances, they said the simplicity of being able to accomplish something in a couple hours GW play a night was refreshing. They could pick up and put down the game for days or weeks at a time, and still feel like they're not missing out on anything in the way of accomplishment because there's no feeling that they MUST reach a certain level.
Then you have myself and few other guildies/alliance members/friends working together (or separate) on titles. We've been playing for 3 years+, we can play hardcore sessions, or put the game down for days/weeks at a time...and STILL feeling like we're accomplishing our goal of titles/HoM/however hardcore we feel like being.
So. There's story, armour, weapons and fun for those who want casual. And there's titles n leet stuff for those who want hardcore. It IS possible for the two to mix within one game. Just because you don't see it - or refuse to acknowledge it with your elitism - doesn't mean it can't happen.

I fully agree.
My thoughts were more directed at anyone stating that GW is purely for the more casual player.
That's incorrect.
